These may be corporate meetings, weddings, concerts, banquets, tradeshows or conventions. While this segment of the industry presents many career opportunities, it is underserved by educational institutions in providing qualified graduates.

In a recent MPI/GPJ survey of 200 marketing executives representing large corporations across multiple industries, 82% indicated that events are an integral part of their marketing strategies.
